Richard Schultz joined Knoll International in 1951, and received an award at the International Design Awards in 1967. He became an independent product designer in 1972, developing products for a wide variety of companies. In 1984, he designed the Slat chair as a limited release item for CondeHouse’s international market. It was later discontinued, and then recently reintroduced to both the US and Japanese market.
