Created in 1984 as a limited release item for the US market, SLAT was reintroduced with a fresh look in 2023. This unique artful piece was designed by Richard Schultz, a long time friend of CondeHouse. While appearing rigid and unmoving, it offers an unforeseen comfort and flexibility, as well as strength and support.
Richard Schultz joined Knoll International in 1951, and received an award at the International Design Awards in 1967. He became an independent product designer in 1972, developing products for a wide variety of companies. In 1984, he designed the Slat chair as a limited release item for CondeHouse's international market. It was later discontinued, and then recently reintroduced to both the US and Japanese market.
