AATOS

AATOS

A dining chair designed by Antti Kotilainen based on a Scandinavian design philosophy, “only leave the necessary parts.” The name AATOS, meaning “a noble thought” in Finnish, is fitting for this lightweight and durable chair, which expertly balances the functionality and warmth of Japanese Oak. Choose from wooden or upholstered configurations, both of which are stackable. Convenient for public facilities, restaurants & cafes, and hospitality settings.

Design with Utmost Balance

Starting development with the goal of creating a highly versatile chair, Kotilainen sought out a balance that would allow all types of users to feel a sense of comfort. A suitable size, lightweight and durable, with a sense of nonchalance and individualism—– trials were repeated many times while reconsidering construction to achieve these factors, giving rise to a chair that combines all three in the utmost form and shape.

Stackable up to 4 Chairs

AATOS is stackable up to four chairs, and does not take up a lot of space when stored. Its lightweight form allows for easy carrying. Conveniently use in meeting rooms and offices, or cafes and restaurants. 4 spacers are affixed to the bottom of each chair to prevent scratching from repeated stacking.

Beautiful & Easily Maintainable

The softly curving form of AATOS evokes a sense of calm. Handiwork is showcased in areas such as the gentle shape of the back and the joining of the back and legs. Enjoy the smooth, buttery texture of beautiful Japanese Oak. The cushioned upholstery also serves to gently support the body.

The all-wood type allows you to experience the charm of Japanese Oak to your heart’s content. Careful consideration was given to the molding techniques that would allow for utmost comfort when sitting. Additionally, as this chair can be maintained effortlessly with a single wipe of a damp cloth, it is ideal especially for high-volume situations.
