Toshiyuki Yoshino

Born in 1959 in Yokohama. In 1984, Yoshino graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and continued with postgraduate research in equipment design at the same university, concluding in 1987. He worked for two years in a planning department, until he received a scholarship from the German government to participate in an academic theory research study on “Form Language” at the Schwaebisch Gmuend Design Academy in Berlin. Then, after involvement in product development work, he established his independent studio, “Studio Yoshino” (now known as “Toshiyuki Yoshino Design”) in Milan, Italy. He now is based both in Italy and Japan, and designs products with a focus on furniture.
